8525 connectors series uses a self-locking mechanism with bayonet. This design is a quick coupling that saves time during systems assembly. All the experience acquired in aerospace industry guarantee a high level of confidence in terms of quality.
This widely used connector family offers a large range of layouts available, either to transmit signal or power, or a mix of them. For harsher environment, we delivered a stainless steel version of this standard that is able to withstand a very long salt spray duration.
Submitted to various environment constrains, this connector family will always guarantee a proper and effective sealing at connector interface and between the connector and le cables, due to its front and rear silicone elastomers parts.

The temperature range of 8526 series is from -55°C to +200°C class L and -55°C to +175°C, classes W and K. Please be aware that use at hot spot temperature is reducing the life time of the connector. This is specified by the service life in the MIL standard MIL-DTL-26482.
Series 8525 has got 3 teeth on the backside as specified in the EN and in the ASN_E standards. Special versions with 360° teeth are available with separate partnumbers.

Sunbank offers backshells qualified for MIL-DTL-26482 Series. They may fit to the 8525 series, but their use is not recommended as the performance of the connector can’t be guaranteed then.
For the receptacles straight spill versions with specified length are available. The contacts are dismountable and can be ordered separately.

The Series 8525 is a lightweight version of the MIL-DTL-26482 II Series especially designed for aircraft applications. The differences are the lower weight, the platings, the fluid resistance and the wider temperature range. Apart from that, the insulators are made from different materials and are equipped with a grommet and with an interfacial seal.
Series 8525 are with rear release contacts. Standard Insertion tools can be used. In the delivery package of crimp version a consumable plastic insertion and extraction tool is already included.
Series 8525 is fully intermateable with MIL-DTL-26482 series connectors – both series I and II. However when mating with series I and II the minimum performance of requirements are determining the properties of the connection. Attention must also be paid to the different platings and to the galvanic potentials.

Series 8525 can be used within a temperature range of -55°C to +200°C with in black anodized and in nickel plating.
8525 series is available in black anodized non conductive plating and in nickel conductive plating. Also a yellow cadmium plated version is still available, but this is going to be phased out due to RoHS and Reach regulations. The black anodized and the nickel versions are the most commonly used ones.
