    • How to use the RoHS status ?

    This note aim to explain our customer how to work with the Souriau RoHS status document.

    1. Choose the connectors family you want to analyse

    2. Table interpretation and meanings

    In this table you'll find :


    1. 1. The part type aluminium connectors, stainless steel, backshell….
    2. 2. The part designation with the key symbol that are used to determine the RoHS status
    3. 3. An example of part designation that identify the RoHS key in blue, and allowed you to identify the key in your part number.
    4. 4. The presence of the regulated substances in the selected category. A is for presence of the regulated substance. None of our product     contain either PBB, PBDE, nor Mercury, that’s why the regulated substances shown are only lead, Cadmium, and Hexavalent chromium.
    5. 5. Some notes about the connectors such as plating type.
    6. 6. In order to help it’s customer, Souriau has added a “can be used there table ”

    2a.Table headline

    In the table headline you find numbers that are linked to different appliances.

    Number in yellow shade represent the covered appliances.

    Numbers in grey shade RoHS directive not applicable. Before using our products in these last appliances, please refer to the linked legislation (example: directive 91/338/CEE for aeronautical appliances…).

    As Souriau doesn’t know the final used of it’s product, Souriau can’t be charged for bad used of it’s products.

    In the table you find :

    Bright green cells : With a number for the other status. These products can be used in non covered appliances.

    White cells : Souriau products are generally not used in these application fields, so please check.

    Souriau does not use such a substance on these products however we are waiting for certificates from our part suppliers to confirm full compatibility.

    Cadmium plating :
    # ROHS compliant for some applications using exemption 8 of the 202/95/CE directive:

    # Can be legally used in products and components of the products used in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mining, Offshore and Nuclear sectors whose applications require high safety standards and in safety devices in means of transportation. For the other industrial devises please check directive 91/338/CEE.

    # Military devices, Fixed industrial equipment, Medical devides, Monitoring and control instruments are exempted from directive 2002/95/CE. Check related directive for legal used.

    # For others Souriau proposes an alternative solution to Cadmium such as Ni, Zinc-Ni alloys, Black anodised or Hard Anodised.

    Hexavalent Chromium :
    # RoHS compliant for some applications based on exemption 28 of the current European Directive.

    # Military devices, Fixed industrial equipment, Medical devices, Monitoring and control instruments are exempted from directive 2002/95/CE. Check related directive for legal used.

    # Allowed for Corrosion preventive coatings until 1 July 2007 in automotive applications, please check Directive 2002/53/CE (End of life vehicle) for more information.

    Tin-Lead tinning
    # Not ROHS Compliant for new electronic equipments.

    # Military devices, Fixed industrial equipment, Medical devices, Monitoring and control instruments are exempted from directive 2002/95/CE. Check related directive for legal used.

    # For legal use in automotive applications, please check Directive 2002/53/CE (End of life vehicle) exemption (lead in solder for electronic devise)

    # A lead free solution is available with pure tin selective plating : upon request for special P/N.
       
     

    Souriau products are generally not used in these application fields, so please check.
         

    Contain no Hazardous substances or below the Europeen regulation.
     

    Contain no Hazardous substances or below the chinese regulation.
     

    Contain hazardous substances above the Chinese regulation level, EFUP Environmental Friendly Use Period to be determined.
